"The Conjuring"

"The Conjuring"

"The Conjuring" is one of the best-known horror films of the 2010s, famous for its eerie depiction of a haunted Rhode Island home. But the real "Conjuring" house where the paranormal events allegedly took place is way scarier than any movie.

As the story goes, the 18th-century farm home once belonged to the same family for eight generations, and several children in this family reportedly died in or near the house under disturbing circumstances. Some drowned in a nearby creek, others hanged themselves in the attic, and at least one was murdered. At one point, a brutal killer may have even resided at the home. Then, in the 1970s, an unsuspecting new family moved in, only to be allegedly haunted by angry spirits until they moved out. And many say this house is still haunted today.
