On this day, 24 September 1968, 14 people raided a federal office in downtown Milwaukee

, took 10,000 draft cards, and set them on fire with homemade napalm in protest against the Vietnam war.
The group included five catholic priests, a Scientology minister, and other Catholics and peace activists.
The group were all arrested and charged with crimes including burglary and arson. They were all convicted and jailed, and one participant, an Irish man named Michael Cullen, was deported back to Ireland.
