Encased in smooth, polished white limestone, this architectural marvel would have gleamed brilliantly under the sun, casting a radiant glow that could be seen from miles away. Picture the golden or electrum capstone at its peak, a symbol of the sun's divine power, dazzling all who beheld it. The sheer magnificence of this sight must have left ancient observers in awe, deeply connecting them to their gods and the cosmos.
But as time wore on and Egypt's power waned, scavengers stripped away the polished limestone and the precious metal cap. Today, we're left with the weathered, iconic silhouette we know.
