The Giant’s Grave
This partially restored structure is thought to be at least 6000 years old.. it was discovered in 1869 by workers digging for road stones. Excavations carried out that year revealed the partial remains of over 40 human skeletons, as well as animal remains and neolithic pottery.
Just a short walk away you can also find Cathole Cave which contains rock art from over 14,000 ago, as well as other archaeological finds spanning from the Palaeolithic to Medieval periods...such as bones of mammoth, woolly rhino and other tools and artifacts.
