A now famous building in Istanbul.

A now famous building in Istanbul. This building has its foundation going back centuries. Almost each floor is from a different era.Base is a roman cistern.Due to earthquakes and rise of floor level within time cistern was forgotten and buried into ground. There used to be many merchants in the area during roman/byzantine times. Presumeably cistern was built for their needs. There is also a historical bath nearby used by janissaries in 15-16th centuries.Maybe the cistern was slso supplying this bath at that time. By gezgin hur
