They are becoming incredibly trigger happy with any noise investigated with flares a a few bursts of machine guns fire, sometimes the gunshots alert another position who shoot back at those firing towards them. Other times it’s a poor conscript who has gone out for a pee and had spooked another man on sentry duty or it’s an escaped sheep that has alerted the exhausted and under provisioned troops.

Occasionally however, it might just be British Special forces making a nuisance of themselves, collecting intelligence or spreading the good word with the locals.
